What is Search Engines Optimization (SEO)?

What is SEO?
Imagine for a minute that you're a Librarian, but not a normal one, you are a librarian for every book in the world, people every day depend on you to find exactly what they need, how do you do it?
Search engines like Google, yahoo, bing etc are the librarian of the internet, they have a system to know every content in every site on the web to give you the best answer for your questions, it's not an easy job.

Every search engine has a secret recipe called a algorithm for turning all the information into useful search results.
Now if you have a website, that search results are the most important to you, when your pages have a higher ranking, they help more people find your site.
The key to higher rankings is making sure your site has the ingredients search engines need for their recipes this is called Search Engines Optimization (SEO).
So Search Engines Optimization (SEO) is a technique that the webmasters do to make the search engines find their sites and rank them higher than their competitors.

SEO can be divided into two major parts :
On the page SEO, Off the page SEO

1- On the page SEO :
In this part you must try to make your website as optimized to search engines and search engines friendly as you can ensure its visibility to all major search engines by optimizing some section in the "HTML" coding of each page, concentrating on the keywords that describe your contents which should appear in the title section of your page and meta tag, remember that each page title must use one or more unique keywords to ensure maximum search engine optimization. Using the most important keywords in the first two paragraphs is always a good idea and separate the others keywords in the contents body that is called SEO copywriter. Link the topics together and making a strong internal linking in your site is a must to make search engines notice the site and recommend it.

2- Off the page SEO :
That section is all about obtaining as much BackLinks as you can from trusted, high ranked websites to recommend the site to Google and show it that your site is having a valuable content and a good reputation, there are a lot of strategies to get those backlinks using white hat SEO and Black hat SEO.
Some of the off the page SEO strategies:

  • Press releases
  • Posts on a relevant forum
  • Article distribution
  • Link building / exchange
    Blogging
  • Directory listings
  • Social sites linking


At last remember that if the content is the king SEO is the kingmaker, and working in SEO never end because there are webmaster wants what you want which is the top result in the search engines, so do your best and work hard to get the result you seek.
